It is a colorless liquid, insoluble in water and miscible in ethanol, ether, chloroform and other organic solvents. It is mainly used as organic solvent and dry cleaning agent, and can also be used as solvent of adhesives, degrease solvent of metals, desiccant, paint remover, insect repellent and fat extractant. It can also be used in organic synthesis.
